Xbox MP is a site dedicated to providing accurate information on multiplayer games for the Xbox and for the Xbox 360 consoles. While some of the information is readily available on a games box, other information is not easily obtainable without having the game and trying it out or doing some research. For example, does the game support online guests (those without an xbox live account)? Or how many people can play on one console in a System Link or Xbox Live game?
While providing this information is nice, we also wanted to provide an easy way for users to search the list of games that match the specified criteria. We provide an extensive form that allows you to filter the list of games on almost any aspect of the games information. For example, you can find all Xbox 360 games that have at least 2 players in offline coop as well as at least 8 online players in vs mode online...oh...and exclude all arcade games.
Updating and finding all this information is not an easy task. That is where the Xbox community comes into play. Anyone can submit a new game into the catalog for us to review and add. At the same time, users can submit additional information about a game in order to help us keep the data accurate. Jump in and help us maintain the game data in an effort to provide a useful tool for finding the games that you want to play.
Where do we get the data from? We collected the information from various sources on the web and from our own collections of games. Some sites that were used were Xbox.com, Major Nelson's blog, Team Xbox, and Wikipedia. Various site forums have also been used to help collect data from users who play the game. There are also other resources we have used such as looking at actual game covers to find out some of the more basic information that is readily available. Other data has come from users who submitted the information.
